Multiskills-tool for multicultural work places

In multicultural organizations the development of broader work skills and deeper work-related knowledge is challenging especially in blue-collar jobs. This is often due to problems with language and understanding which limit immigrant employees’ opportunities and push them to the marginal.

According to recent results of a multimethodological study by FIOH, there is a specific need to develop deeper “workplace skills” within multicultural workplaces.

“Multiskills” -tool is a new method for facilitating communication between employees and their supervisors. It opens up opportunities for a systematic development of broader workplace skills in multicultural organizations.

Biosignals reflect pair-dynamics in collaborative work

A study of 56 university students found that assessing collaboration merely from physiology in natural settings is plausible.

The study shows that by analysing electrodermal activity (EDA) and heart rate variation (HRV) of collaborating dyads the teacher can assess collaboration within her classroom.
