## About us

The Finnish Institute of Occupational Health (FIOH) is a multidisciplinary research and specialist organization that focuses on well-being at work, research, advisory services and training.

Together with our clients, we develop good work communities and safe working environments and support employee well-being.

The Finnish Institute of Occupational Health is lead by the Director General,  Dr. Antti Koivula.

The main decision-making body of the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health is its Board of Directors. The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health appoints the members of the Board of Directors every three years.

In addition to the state, labour market organizations are represented in the Board of Directors. Chair of the Board of Directors is Kari Mäkilohiluoma from Kela.

There are about 530 employees in the Institute.

About half of Institute's activities are funded with the state’s budget funding and the other half with service income and external research funding.
